Thanks again for everyones help. Everything is going very well so far
By now the TA dropped to 110ppm.
Values from this morning:
FC 4.5ppm
CC 0.4ppm
PH 7.6
TA 110ppm
CH 275ppm
I ran out of acid 2 days ago so I turned off the waterfall. 2 days ago the PH was at 7.8 today it is 7.6 does that mean if I don't run the waterfall the PH will decrease? My assumption was it would stay about the same.
Do I need to SLAM because of the cc? hard to tell if it's .2 or .4ppm
Ok that is very helpful to know.
My wife wants the waterfall to be running all the time which accelerates the PH rising. Does that just mean that I have to add acid every other day like chlorine?
You will fight pH rise and TA control with continuous aeration. I would suggest testing pH daily (primarily from April to November) and adding small amounts of acid to lower pH to 7.6 and no lower.
