Hi everyone! Hope you guys are as excited for spring as I am!

Plan on opening next week, and currently getting everything ready. What’s the best way to check if my reagents in my test kit are still good? I stupidly left them outside this winter and honestly forgot.

There is no way to know unless you want to do some controlled experiments.

Your reagents are already a year old.

TFTestKits also sells standard solutions for pH, CH, TA, CYA. So at least I can check those reagents once a year. FC I test so much I'm always running out of reagents and buying fresh refills anyway. Also, if OTO results match FAS/DPD results, that's confirmation enough for me that the results are probably valid. Also, if FC rises as expected per poolmath predictions with manual chlorine addition, that's additional confirmation. Only ever had one set of FAS/DPD reagents go bad at the two year mark with indoor storage.
