Why can't I use Insert Image -> By URL to insert photos from Google Photo directly?

Looks to be something to do with the Google url. It might be too long. The above is from my server, a simple url using the insert image>url option.

This is my url pasted in directly into this RTE.

The image above is from my google photos
Right click on the google image, 'Open image in new tab', right click on the new tab image,'copy image address', paste that into the image box URL form.

^^ the above is the right click>copy address version of the url. MUCH longer than the one shown in the browser address field.

I think the "share link" from Google Photo is not a true URL that points to where the actual file is located. If I create a share link, the URL is different each time.

I thought the license plate was funny for someone drove a KIA (Kill-In-Action)
