Changing from a DE6020 filter to the DE7220

57,

Why???

I doubt you would see any difference..

What problem are you trying to solve?

Thanks,

Jim R.
Thanks for the Reply Jim,

I only ask because I have the opportunity to pick up a DE7220 filter housing for a good price. My filter housing is about 20 years old. I have always kept it protected from the sun and still looks good. I thought if I had an opportunity to replace it I would. I think when I do I will just replace it with the same housing. BTW, how does one know when it is time to replace a Hayward filter housing?

57,

No real reason to replace it unless it cracks, leaks, or you just don't like the weathered look..

I have two rent house pools that have old Hayward DE filters... I would like to replace them with large cartridge filters, but they just won't die...

I only asked why because a lot of pool owners believe that poor water quality is caused by a "bad" filter, which is not the case 95% of the time.

Thanks,

Jim R.
