I have a caretaker in floor system. And I have done a rebuild kit about two years ago. I recently had to fix up leak on my pool pump. After fixing the leak and restarting the system and purging all the air using my side returns i then switched to my floors. All of a sudden, the pressure in my filter skyrockets. And the infloor system does not work. As soon as I switch back to the side walls, the pressure drops to normal and the sidewalls move water. I’m at a loss. I cleaned the screen already. I backwashed. The in floors worked for a second and then shut off. I’m not sure why all of a sudden they would not be working.

They worked fine until I fix the leak in my pump. I don’t think the two are correlated, but I am completely at a loss.

Be sure your valves are positioned correctly.

Suggest you open the water distribution valve to check if the internals are working correctly. Maybe even remove the gearset and pistons - and then run the system with them removed to see if the flow improves.
It could just be coincidence that the IFCS stopped working right after the pump work. Time to narrow down why you are having an issue.

Thank you for the direction. I am going to pull out the caretaker internals and see if the water flows. If so then I must have a piston or gear wearing out. Then I will replace. Hope this is the problem

Took apart my caretaker to find a tear in a piston. Rebuilt the caretaker and now everything works again. Weird it happened at the same time I fixed a leak. Perhaps more pressure in the system was too much for the piston. Either way I am running again. Thanks for helping

Murphy's Law

Glad you got it fixed and working again.

Have a read thru Pool Care Basics and ask us any questions you have about your pool.
