Update, the pool company came to replace the pump but the bad news is it sounded just the same as the one they replaced. Good news is they will be back in a few hours with another new pump.

Not sure anyone mentioned this but july is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to late to open a pool. I'm in the NE just like you, I open the pool sometime in late April when the pool temp goes above 60 degrees.
Yes it is def way too late, but we were hoping to get our fence up before opening it. When the fence company told us it would be 6 weeks before they could get to us, opening the pool with the temporary orange fence sounded just as good lol!
The were back around 12 with another pump, even did a quick cleaning and added some shock... all free of charge, love my pool builder.
PS - how cold was the water in April? I think that's when we will open it next year, we still got to get this whole pool ownership down.
