Can’t get water balanced. HIGH PH.

I have a 500 gallon hot tub and my PH is high and TA is fine. I lowered PH to 7.5 but that also brought the TA down to 20, so I used baking soda to raise TA but that raised PH again so now I have a PH above 8 and a TA at 60. If I continue to lower PH the TA will go down and I’m caught in this vicious cycle. What do I do?? My FC is only at 3 so that isn’t causing the PH to read high. I’m using the taylor test kit.

Run the pH & TA tests on your fill water. It may be easier to drain & refill than to keep tearing your hair out.

Your sig says 360 gallons but your post says 500, by the way.

Manage the pH and ignore the TA unless your pH becomes unstable. When pH becomes unstable drain and replace the water. pH is what matters.

Not necessarily. See how it works for you. Add just a bit of baking soda at one time.
