Hey all, so I filled the pool this year with fresh water, it was 58 degrees and I couldn't get any of the stabilizer to disolve.
Since then, I've continued to maintain the bleach, ph, TA.
With the water getting warmer, (80 now) I did the sock method (as much as I could fit in at once), it took 3 times with a sock over a period of a few days, and I swear the other day the water in the test tube was finally slightly cloudly when totally filled (Showing *some* CYA).
Sadly I let the FC drop to 0, I noticed the water in the pool was cloudy.. I didn't expect it to burn through the CL that fast, so I quickly got it back up (but not to SLAM levels) the same day.
Now when I test the water, sometimes I will have .5 CC, other times 0, but the water in the CYA tube is still clear.
On top of that, I've always been told it's an 18,000 gallon pool. It's 16x32 rectangle, hardly any shallow end, and 10ft deep in the deep. Do I have more like a 25k gal so my measurements/additions are off?
I just added a jug of 12.5% and am going to test again in an hour.
Did I screw up by adding CYA too slow and obviously by letting FC drop? Do I need to re-slam? Any help would be appreciated!
