Is it ok to take your pool vacuum and step into the pool while vacuuming? It seems like it would be a lot easier way to vacuum your pool.

Ad,

Well, the easiest way is to move into this Century and get a robot...

That said, I can't think of any reason not to be in the pool with the vacuum running if you want.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I did it swimming. It was 95% fun and 5% work. Throw on a mask and snorkle and see every inch crystal clear.

I always get a kick out of people who respond by saying move into the 21st century. What a hoot. But I have heard that robot cleaners are still unreliable and break down quickly. Perhaps my knowledge is a little archaic there too.

Ad,

Well, I was being a wise guy for sure.

But, I have been using robot cleaners for over 10 years, so I see them differently than you do.

I like things that work well for me. And you have every right to like whatever works well for you.

Thanks,

Jim R.

If you’re talking about manually vacuuming- it’s the only way i do it. I’m too short to reach most parts of the pool otherwise 🤣

I don’t see why not. I probably wouldn’t only because I’m certain I’d kick up what I’m trying to vacuum and then quit and chill out instead 🙂

The floor is lava. Float at all costs. 😁

Nah. With the long pole you aren't standing where you are vac-ing anyway. Do an area then go stand there while doing the rest. The goggles make it so easy. You can spot any spec of dirt from afar.

For you folks that vacuum your pools while in your pool, what do you do in the winter? I'd need a pretty thick wetsuit right now!

Out of sight out of mind, once the cover goes on. 😁 No idea what they do by you where 'winter' is like my summer. 🤣

But for real. I had a heavily treed yard and we used a safety cover. We moved to an open yard and i didn't cover the pool we inherited. Any time i went and checked there was some leaves and dirt, but i knew it was no worse than what would have been hiding under the safety cover at the old place, so i shrugged and walked away for a few more weeks.

Mine is covered so no need to vacuum in "winter" lol

Last summer when the pool water was above 80 degrees and after one the weekly Las Vegas windy days, the robot needed 2 full cycles (4 hours) to clean the pool. I can jump in, cool off and manually vacuum within an hour. The robot is convenient but I can do it better and faster.

I *could* also vac in an hour. But about 5 minutes into snorkel vacuuming, i'd realize i couldn't hear all the raccoon screetching noises from the beloved house-O-hormones, with 2 teenage girls and a Mrs. I could only hear the sereneity of the water lapping my ears like a sensory deprivation tank. For some reason, the pool always needed SEVERAL passes after that. :ROFLMAO:
