If I have not turned on my SWG this season and the only salt in my pool is salt that was left over from last season, would that be enough to make my walter taste salty now?
Salt does not go away ... it is like CYA and only lowers with physically removing the water from the pool. And, realize that all forms of chlorine are also adding salt back into the pool.
That said, taste is subjective, and every one's sensitivity to salty taste is different.
If you have a swg installed by all means you should use it
It helps maintain free chlorine
I love my swg and glad we went with a swg pool
Like JBlizzle said taste is subjective
Some days I can taste the salt most others I can't
Ok Thanks! I have it running so glad I didn't have to add more salt this year! Good to know! I still have a little cloudiness, but there was so much dirt in the bottom from all of the rain we have had. The more I vacuum the clearer it gets! Thanks for all of your knowledge and help!
Were you able to test your CYA so you can provide us with that number? I presume you're still shocking until you meet all 3 criteria.
That being: Water is clear, CC equal to or less than 0.5ppm & an OCLT shows a CL loss of 1.0ppm or less.
