Can this outlet return be changed?

On my fiberglass pool this is the type of outlet on my steps. I'd like to change this out to something with a bit of venturi action to help move water forwards.
Is this changeable and how?

You would have to do a lot of work to retro fit a Venturi eyeball. Quite honestly, I don’t think they make that much difference.

is there anything I can do with this thing?? I does not allow for any rotation or alteration.

I suspect metal staining has frozen it in place....a rubber mallet might move it but only hit the actual eyeball.

You can probably get the eyeball to move if you loosen the outer ring by putting something in the two notches and unscrewing.

You could probably get the eyeball out and replace it with a smaller diameter hole for more velocity.

You can't get a venturi effect because that requires an air line.

However, I think that you run the risk of creating a leak if the whole fitting rotates.

I would leave it alone. I don't think that adjusting it is going to make any difference.
