Can One Of you Professionals grade my water tests.

When you test CYA you cannot read a value of 75. The vial is a logarithmic scale. So round up to the next full line, or 80 for you.

As a non-SWCG pool, that CYA is quite high. Using the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA], your target FC is 9-11 ppm. That is problematic as you cannot reliably test pH at a FC of 10 or higher.

I would suggest replacing some of our water with fresh to lower your CYA.

I assume you are not using the trichlor feeder. If you are, you need to discontinue that and use liquid chlorine, daily, only.

Once you lower your CYA with a drain/refill, I suggest a SLAM as you have elevated CC. Unless you have added a chemical that mimics high CC such as MPS (non chlorine shock).

Take care.

Thanks for your input. I have turned off the puck chlorinator and have been using 1-121oz jug of bleach daily just to maintain sanitizing because of the high cya. I drained a little water and refilled but didn’t budge the cya that much. I’ll have to just drain the % of water the chart shows wether I want to or not. I have not added any chemicals that mimic high CC and have had trouble keeping fire chlorine since I opened. I’m assuming my first plan of action is to drain and refill correct? Once I get cya down then I can SLAM to reduce CC. Is it ok for kids to swim with the numbers that show now? What numbers are critical for safe swimming? Thanks again for all your help in advance.
