We are replacing the liner in our 18' round metal AG pool. Must we put the new liner and water in it or will the approximately 3 feet of more of snow we will get be okay until spring, then install the new liner. The pool sits on all sand.
The liner with water is what supports the metal walls. The walls do not have much structural integrity without the water and good chance the wall will bend or fall in from snow and wind.
To add to the reasons this is a bad idea, the liner also protects the foundation of your pool. Even if you managed to get through the winter without wind or snow knocking the pool over, the sand floor of the pool will be damaged from water run-off and will have to be repaired before a new liner goes in.
Either wait until spring to replace the liner or do the full replacement job now.
