Calcium questions

Mornin' folks. Part one of my question is the best way to clean calcium build up off the grout in my pool. I can get it off the tile with a pumice stone and some elbow grease. But its on the grout between the tile and brick lip of the pool and the pumice can't get in there very well. I'm reading about people spraying MA on it. Is that an option or will it cause problems with my grout.

Part two is, am I doing something wrong with my chemistry to make these calcium deposits occur? It's not a crazy amount and not everywhere in the pool. Numbers below:

FC 8
CC 0
PH 7.6
TA 60
CH 200
CYA 50

Note: I've been using cal hypo to get my CH up this year.

If your pH is consistently as you show and your TA and CH have been in that range all along you should not be getting much scale build up at all. If your pH and TA have been higher at times then you can get scale at the waterline.

My CH is 600 and I try to keep my pH at 7.2 and TA between 50-70. I had really thick calcium buildup above my waterline and along my spillover for my spa. Using a pumice stone didn't do anything for my pool, so this is what I ended up doing:

1.
I took a hammer to the thickest areas of buildup and GENTLY tapped it off (I don't really recommend it to those who are skeptical of taking a hammer to their pool - and I don't blame them, but I thought I'd share because it worked for me and I didn't break any tiles. I can post a link to a YouTube video I found, if you're interested).

2. I poured MA along the tile walls that just had regular scaling. It fizzes up once you pour it on the calcium and you get your brush ready to go and start scrubbing it off.

Good luck!
