Hi everyone,
First time posting but long time follower.

First of all I’d like to be clear that I am having our pool builder take a look at the plaster as it is only 8 months old. But I figured I would get some of your thoughts as well.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

Can you circle what you think are the problem areas? I can't spot anything viewing it on my monitor.

Calcium Nodules in pools What are calcium nodules? In swimming pools and spas, they are small mounds, bumps, deposits, or “slag” piles of calcium carbonate which are formed from material that has been released from the plaster. The small calcium nodules are rough to the touch, hard, and generally gritty. Nodules may form singularly (far apart or sporadically), or many and close together along a crack in the plaster surface.

Thanks for the reply. Here is a pic zoomed in and circled.

Have you observed those bumps increasing in size?

Have not really noticed if they have gotten bigger. I will be watching them closely and get in the water this summer and get a closer look. Fort time pool owner so everything that “looks” out of the norm has me on edge.

When you get in the water press on the bumps and see if they feel solid or spongy.

Can you provide us with a full set of test results (your own, not a pool store's) so we can look at your balance?

How do you chlorinate your pool?

Thanks.
