See the extended test kit directions

Use a 10 ml water sample where each drop of reagent is 25 ppm.
If you continue to add drops does the color continue to change?

Where in California are you?
Many areas of Cali have hard water. Your CH is likely higher than 250 unless this is a fresh fill.

No it start to change to clear color around 35 drops .I live in the central valley by Modesto. When I took a water sample to pool store it tested at 254 ppm

First - totally disregard the PS results.

Follow the extended test kit directions.
Use a 10 ml sample. Each drop coints as 25 ppm. The result is close enough for our purposes.
Continue to add drops until the last drop doesn't change the color any further, then sugtract the last drop from your total count.

Test your fill water pH, TA and CH. Report those results here.
