Calcium build up

What would cause the calcium to build up on the salt cell so quickly?
I literally just cleaned the cell last Wednesday and I only had 2 or 3 plates that had calcium built up.
Today I went to go look at the salt cell and the calcium buildup was a lot worse.

All my Chem levels are within the proper parameters.
I did add alkalinity last week as well because it was hovering around 50 and I brought it up to 80.

Do you have to add calcium often to bring your CH up after frequent FL rains and necessary water drains?
Is your pool under a bird cage?
Do you use any other chemicals in your pool?
What is your decking made of?

My CH hovers around 450. I’ve never had to add calcium.

No bird cage. Full sun from 11-7

No other chems are added.

I guess you have really hard fill water.... please test it just to confirm.
If you keep your pH down at the low end it will help balance your CSI and help you avoid scale. Try that. 7.2 or so.

Its okay to lower your TA also to help keep the pH on the low end of normal.

I’ve never seen my CH lower than 400 and it’s been as high as 500. But recently it’s been about 450.
I’ll recheck ph tomm and add acid to lower it.
I’m just shocked at how quickly the cell was full of calcium
