one of my returns has bubbles coming out of it every now and then. It is only a few and it doesn't happen all the time but it is always that one return. What could be causing that?

A byproduct of the SWG process is hydrogen which usually will come out of the returns closest to the SWG but not always
It comes and goes as the SWG is turning on and off for your schedule

yes, that could be it. I am trying to remember if I saw it before I converted to SWG this spring and I don't think I did but can't really remember.

Air leak = consistent bubbles if pump is on
SWG = bubbles when your cell is operating
So next time you see them look to see if your cell is on
