Bubble's in return jets after heavy rain

Hello all!

Yesterday, we had really heavy rain and the pool filled up almost to the top (over the skimmers). So I used the Waste setting on my sand filter until the water level was back to normal. When I turned by to Filter I noticed my returns have a lot of bubbles coming out. I tried backwashing to see if that might help, but still lots of bubbles. I checked the skimmer baskets, pump basket and nothing wrong there. The pressure gauge says 10 which is pretty normal.

Any ideas?

Do you turn off your pump before changing MPV positions?

If the water level is mid skimmer again, check to make sure the weir doors move freely. One/both might be stuck causing you to suck air.

Is it a lot of bubbles? I would guess some air got into the filter as you were changing from one setting to another. Did you do anything else, like clean out the pump basket? Might be sucking in a little air from it if not sealing perfectly.

Does the bubbles go away after a while and only return when the pump starts up again after being off for a while? If so, likely the spider gasket is letting air in when the pump is off.

You are still using LC and not SWG? If you are using SWG then the bubble can be from it.

I did see the Pump basket door was not fully secure, so I was able to tighten it a bit more. It looks like the bubbles have lesson, but they are still there more than usual. Maybe it just needs time?

I still use liquid chlorine.

I don’t believe our skimmers have weir doors.

That's not good. Can you post a photo from standing in the pool looking into the skimmer?
