Brush before or after superchlorinating during SLAM?

Hi all,

I started the process of opening/cleaning my pool which has a pretty healthy growth of algae on the walls as well as the floor of the more shallow ends of the pool.

The chemistry is good and at optimal levels for the liquid chlorine to do its work.

The only real confusion I have is whether to brush the walls and bottom BEFORE or AFTER I start the process of suoerchlorination.

Thanks for any help you folks can offer.

Ya you have to brush once or twice (even better) per day during a slam.
It gets the dead algae off the wall but also busts the protective barrier of live algae
so it can be eradicated by the high chlorine levels.

Thanks, that's great info and I now know how much I should add.

I'm trying to do this in a no sunlight environment and that includes brushing the walls.

With a setup of a 26,000 gallon pool, a 1 HP pump and 48 sf filter, how long would it take the added chlorine to fully circulate, give or take? Sorry for so many questions. You'd think I'm a newb.
