Hi! I recently started getting our pool ready swim in for the summer. We have a 16 ft x 48in summer waves pool. Monday I started balancing the ph levels and the alkalinity.. brought my water back on Wednesday and they gave me something to lower the PH, an algaecide, and chlorine. I put 3lbs of low n slo in for the PH, 3oz of algaecide because the pool felt slippery and slimy not because it was green, and a chlorine tab. I noticed it start to slowly turn green so I shocked it and it went from green to a red/brown within 30 min and I could no longer see the bottom. I took the water back in to be tested and they said all of our levels were right where they needed to be but 0.1 showed up for iron. I’m at a loss at what do now. PLEASE HELP!

You oxidized the iron in your water and it is now rust. You can filter it out. What filter type do you have? If you have a skimmer, put polyfill in it and rinse it out when it turns brown.

And while you are at it, I would get a test kit (check out the link in my signature) so you can test yourself. It’s easy to manage your own pool, and cheaper as well!
