Hello,
New to pools and spas, but have had a saltwater tank before so not completely new to water chemistry and balance.
My question is when I test for Bromine and add the drops to get the solution colorless, it will stay colorless for a minute or two, but if I leave the solution in the tube it almost always returns to pink. Is that standard or do I need to continue adding drops until it stays colorless indefinitely? I haven't hit that mark yet and there should be no way my Bromine is that high.
I added sodium bromide per the manufacturers recommendations that should have brought the bank up to around 30 ppm. I then shocked with ~5/8 C of disinfecting bleach (7.4%) for 250 gallon spa.
Other parameters:
TA: 50
CH: 125-130
Ph: 7.4 (raises to around 7.8-8 after an hour of jets)
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
