My question is the pH in my spa is always high requiring 1-2 oz of Sodium Bisulfate to adjust the pH down to 7.2-7.4 every time I test weekly or twice a week depending on bather load, (which does not seem to matter in regards to pH). Is this normal my thoughts are that the spa is always running a high pH so the water is in a high alkaline state, could this be corrosive to the spa. Alkalinity and hardness are in balance, bromine levels are 3-4ppm typically, I currently use HASA Brominating Tablets (1-Bromo-3-chloro-5, 5-dimethythydantoin) 96% tablets,
I was under the understanding that bromine will drive the pH down not up.

Thanks for any help

I 2nd the use of muriatic acid- as the dry acid has sulphates which are not good for your heater.
What is your actual ta?
That has a major effect on ph in your spa.
There’s info in this sticky on adjusting ta
Most find it helpful to get ta to around 50
