Broken valve handle

I broke the handle on my Hayward valve. I have ordered a replacement. Is there any way I can adjust the setting without the handle? I am stuck on waste now....

It's going to be a little difficult, but I would try using a pair of Channel Lock pliers to see if I could tilt, and move it to a new position. You don't have much to lose by trying.

clamp a pair of vice-grips on the metal part in the center. pull straight up and turn. I've had to do it before too.

Thank you. Upon further review it appears that I broke the top of the diverter. Ugh.

Do you have a submersible pump to put in your pool to keep the water circulating until you can do your repair?

No. I took the top off and locked it in position until the replacement can be installed
