Broken outlet piece on filter

The plastic piece connected to the outlet on the filter broke in half. Not quite sure if anyone knows if this piece can somehow be replaced or if not, a work-a-round to getting it fixed. Please reference the attached pictures.109364109365

What actually broke appears to just be a piece of PVC pipe.

You should be able to unscrew the fitting from the filter and replace it, add another piece of pipe (or whatever it is that is inside the black hose) and hook things back up.

On 2nd look, maybe that was not a piece or pipe and it is just a MPT to barbed PVC adapter. Pull the piece out of the hose.

For now, go to Home Depot and buy a 1.5" threaded plug. Put several (at least 6) wraps of Teflon tape on it and put it into the filter. You can then replace that part at your leisure. Or, unscrew that part, go to a pool supply and get a replacement. Same advise for the t'tape.

Is that outlet just the drain on the bottom of the filter or the feed that is supposed to go back to the pool? If the latter, then the advice to plug it in the post above is not going to be helpful.

That's a PVC hose to threaded adapter.

Pro,

Looks like Dave nailed your problem. It would be helpful if you could fill in a little more info in your signature like make and model numbers. Will come in handy if you need any advice in the future.

Good luck!

Chris
