My multi port handle broke off and it’s stuck in the back wash setting. It’s a Hayward pump not sure if that makes a difference. Is there a way to change this setting back to filter without the handle? It’s going to take several days to get a new one and we really need the pump back on filter.

Maybe try some vice-grip pliers. Just enough grip to grab that stem, depress, and turn?

And worse case, if you can't get vice-grips on the stem to change the setting, perhaps unscrew the top of the valve altogether, then lift and rotate enough to get to filter. Of course the valve will be misaligned because you couldn't move the setting itself, but it might work for now until you can fix the valve properly.

I'm not seeing anything to grab with vice grips. You might need to unscrew that top (6 screws) and see if you can rotate it temporarily to a position that will allow the water to go to filter (or recycle) until you can replace it.
