Broke my permanent plug in my skimmer box

Hello opening my pool after a long hard winter in Michigan.. I started to try to undo one of my plugs in my skimmer box and mistakenly try to undo the permanent plug and now is broken with a big hole in the plug.... I know what you think rookie mistake and yes pure stupidity on my end. My question is if this needs to be repaired immediately? Can I try to open my pool and fix at a later time? Thanks for any direction you can provide... it’s an In ground pool

I am pretty sure you need to get it fixed.....sooner rather than later. It seems to me like your pool will leak down to below the skimmer until it is fixed

Thank you for the responses I attached a picture it’s the plug facing north on the picture . I will start looking for a pool company

Regular winter plug will close that up if I’m seeing correctly.

No it’s a plastic screwed in plug
