I have a brand new Intex 20 ft above ground pool with a sand filter. When I operate the filter it runs good for about 45 min and then the water flow trickles down to nothing. The pressure does not change that much. The water is clear and I think my chemicals are good.. If I switch the filter to recirculate it runs great. Backwashing makes the filter run good again for about 45 min and then the same problem occurs. Could it be too little or too much sand?

The symptoms you describe are typically seen when you have algae in a pool. Can you post water chemistry test results from a proper test kit?
