Brand new Circupool sj-45 shuts off after salt and cell lights turn on red

two flow sensors being bad and giving the same failure would be possible but unlikely.
Before I changed the flow switch housing, the cell would come on less then a minute, start producing with a green flow light, then the cell light and the salt light would turn red and it would stop producing. Now the cell light and the salt light stay off and the flow light and temperature light immediately turn red, the cell never starts generating.

Ah, so not the same failure. So the flow switch itself is the same but the housing was changed? I’m curious why circupool uses different switch bodies between the SJ and RJ.

I have actually replaced all parts at this point, including the switch and the housing, the cell, and the control panel. I have not seen the flow switch for the RJ, how is it different?

I stopped getting updates on your thread... I was hoping the phone line was going to work but I guess not... Hopefully they come back with an RJ and call it a day but who knows with the prices going through the roof right now... Its crazzy how much everything is going up...

Not home, so don't have a picture. But it is a "T" fitting where the "T" for the flow switch is 3/4" (or maybe 1", cannot remember) threaded that the flow switch screws into.

Doesn't have the big screw cap or the metal side tab like the unit you have. The electronics for the flow switch are in the RJ control center not the fitting.

Yep, I can just unscrew the switch out of the fitting (I think, but haven’t tried it).

You can kinda see it in this photo, it's a very simple paddle in the stream of water for the RJ's.

While I've been waiting on my new pump motor to arrive, I've been stuffing the sump pump discharge hose in the skimmer line. It's advertised as a 1hp pump, and even leaking at the fitting in the skimmer and showing 0 psi on the filter gauge there is enough flow to keep my RJ45+ happy.

Not sure if it was this thread, or a different one, but when I first hooked my unit up, I had the red salt and cell lights after it generated for 30 seconds to a minute. I called CircuPool, and he had me add some more salt, and wait for the temperature to get higher. That worked.
My temp was between 68 and 70 when the sensor didn't like it. I ordered a solar cover, and 3 days later my temperature was 80, and it worked.

the cell should work above 60 degrees, both mine have worked at 60 to 62 degrees... there are pools that berely get to 70 degrees and if it does not work till 80 that is a fail...

UPDATE
I returned the entire unit to Discount Salt Pool ‘s. I didn’t hear anything from them. I sent an email yesterday asking what the plan was. They are telling me that they want to try to replicate the problem. They say they will either repair my system or replace it according to the warranty. I purchased this in April, I’m ready to get in the pool, and I still don’t have a saltwater generator. I’m not real happy at this point. I did notice that the SJ -45 is no longer available on the discounts salt pools website or on the circupool website. I am assuming I am not the only one having this problem. At this point, I am about ready to dispute the charges on my credit card, and buy locally. 😡😢

Hopefully they are better at returns than the place I ordered my pool heater from. I had to dispute the charges when the company kept verbally telling me they’d return it because of shipping damage but would never schedule a return RMA and pickup. Once I finally got it picked up for return, I still haven’t got a refund from them, only a credit from my cc company.

They have been so helpful and attentive until the complete second unit still didn’t work. I understand how unlikely it is to have two complete units with problems, but there is a problem with this product. The sad thing is that it is replacing an Intex swg, that was admittedly too small for my pool, but at least it worked!

I really am sorry your systems x 2 are having this much trouble... I hope they can recreate it and get it fixed or working because it really is a great system and working WAY better than my old SJ system... They are still selling them on DSP but it is not on sale.. My old one worked flawless for 7 years before I got this one... here is hoping something works for you soon.. :)

Another UPDATE
DSP called, they had the same problem I had, offered to send the Universal 40000 swg,.. help me,. Why do I want the rj- 45 instead? The warranty and life of the cell seems like a big deal to me.
