Booster pump leak

I recently got a house with a pool. I've gotten the chemicals down. Everything is fine on that end. I've noticed that the Hayward booster pump 5060 is 20 years old(?) and has a leak. Is the booster even worth getting serviced? This pool vacuum is strong, but it does get stuck and tangled all the time.

If I were to stop using the pump and switch to a robot vacuum or something, would you recommend redoing the piping completely? Or would it be fine to just remove the booster pump and just connect the pipes together? I will be doing my research but I thought I'd ask for some opinions on this as well. What would you all do if you were in my situation?

Problem with the Polaris hose is that it was coiled and left in the Sun when it was out of the pool. You could try to lay it our straight in the Sun, with something to prevent it from trying to coil on the fitting end and it may straighten a little.

Pump has had both a seal leak and the body O ring leaking. A new pump may be in order.

If you remove it, be sure to remove the electrical as well. You can hook the pipes together as well, or just cap them. By hooking them together you will have a bit of additional flow to the pool.
