Hi there,

When my AGP was installed, we did the bonding to code with the assumption that we would use the PVC ladder that came with our pool. Since then we built a little deck and got an over-the-side ladder that has stainless steel uprights and PVC steps.

I assume I must now include this in the bonding loop, is there a simple way to do this?

Thanks!

Depends how easy it is to run a wire from the metal uprights to the bonding wire.

I would not worry about it if the ladder sits on a wood deck and in the pool water.

Thanks. The deck is composite timbertech and the ladder’s in the water. I could connect both uprights to the loop but I would have to disconnect whenever I remove the ladder.

Not knowing how you have the ladder anchored to your deck, I am guessing that the points that hold the ladder are also metal and connected to the rails? If so, you could possibly use a stud where the underside is longer and held in place with nuts and then you could connect to that using a lug. This way all you need to do is loosen the upper nuts leaving the studs and bonding connection in place.

This is the general idea...

Yes! Thanks - the ladder is held in two metal cups. I had thought about trying to connect to that. As a bonus, the wire would then be completely hidden under the steps of the deck.
