My local Ace has had 10% in gallon jugs at $2.50 when you buy a case of four. Got about 16 gallons in reserve. But they've had that price for a solid month now. Decent deal.

My local Ollies ran out of the 12% liquid shock I was getting. The Rural King next door has a big stock of 10% liquid for $7.99 per case of 4 1 gallon bottles. They also had regular bleach for $0.98 but found out it is only 3%.

Thank you! Going there tonight! Still on sale as of today, so says the website anyway!

gallon jugs of what? Shock or bleach?

Sure thing! :D
If you have any questions or need us to verify the value of a bleach/liquid Cl find, don't hesitate to post.

Also, keep an eye on the date codes. Search the forum for how Clorox does theirs, that'll tell you how most are done. Just keep in mind they usually show the day of the year it was made, and some use the last digit of the year, others use the last 2 digits. Letters are always plant codes, but sometimes they use 2 characters for that, one being a number. Looking at multiple different date codes on the same brand on the shelf can help decode based on the day of the year as your guideline for what makese sense in decoding it, and what doesn't.

After seeing this I called my local Ace and spoke with the manager. They have a local bleach supplier who has 14.5% bleach for $19 for 5 1 gallon jugs. He did some calling around for me to get me this info. It will mean that instead of having to use 179 oz. of 8.25 bleach at $3 per gallon I can use 102 oz. of 14.5% bleach at $3.80 per gallon and save a little money. With water temps +/- 90 everyday I am seeing drops in FC from7ppm to 2 ppm almost everyday. Water is sparkling though. Luckily the store is not far away since apparently the higher the concentration the shorter the shelf life. May be doing a weekly run. Pays to make some phone calls.

Usually if it's over 8.25% it will be labeled something like "liquid chlorine", "liquid shock", "liquid pool shock".

Remember they're all the same thing as bleach, just different concentrations. ;-)

It's labeled "pool shock."

It's just higher concentration of liquid bleach, right? These people got me worried now.

That's quite a bit of FC loss per day. CYA level?

Where can one buy this 55 gal drum of bleach?

Company called Univar sells it. If you have one local to you, they may/may not be reasonable for your area. If you're going to go this route I'd personally suggest you have someone to split it with...unless you have a dark cool place to store the drum, or have a massive pool.

Univar is an international chemical supply company.

Just wanted to mention that Ollie's is running a promotion, 15% off everything in store til July 4th.

This brings their "shock" normal price of $2.99/gal to $2.54/gal.
The pallet I saw yesterday in Rochester, NY had a date of 6-10, so it was real good.

Menards, 12.5% gallon jugs for $1.98 thru mid July!

2.49/gal in the Menards around here, that sale ends tomorrow. However I noticed they have a huge stock of it out on the floor for a 2 day sale so I would not be surprised to see another one coming soon? Either that or they have learned just putting 2 cases out at time when it is on sale causes a lot of work restocking the shelves.

Just stopped in our Ollies here in Harrisonburg, VA, they also have the 15% off store wide, 25% of patio furniture. Going to grab a pool umbrella. Unfortunately I just grabbed 12 gallons of their liquid shock earlier this week, pre-promotion.
