Birds on pool cages - problem as started!

Year later, large white birds landing on crossbeams of the pool cage creating a mess!

Researching options, any ideas? What have you used that works? So far turning up a lot of options:

• Fake Owl mounted on left/right corner at top (green arrow for reference)
• Spiky things mounted on the cross beams
• birdbgone (bbg) (Spectrum V holographic bird gel discs or spider or Reflect-a-bird deterrent)
• Reflective Pinwheels mounted on outside left/right post at top
• Hanging Reflective Bird scare disks (https://www.amazon.com/Chephon-Upgraded-Bird-Repellent-Discs/dp/B01LYEI23V)
  (use small post mounted on each post, string wire across and hang some of these)

Since where they are landing is higher (slopes down) than the left and right post mounting, birds need to see objects.
I think they would see the owl, if facing the owl inwards. This is not our cage but very similar where birds are landing.

I’d try a stand-off at each end of the beam with a couple strands of mono fishing line strung tight between them.

I think the issue here is we actually see them flying in from the roof to the cage and not flying in from the lake. I would have to get tall posts to connect fishing line to the back where the gutters are maybe in an X or something.

I’m talking about a deterrent to keep them from landing.

Yes, a deterrent, some sketches attached and I found our actual screen (still traveling).

Over time it might be the "dumb owls never move" issue. The commercial solution I usually see is the strips of spikes. Installation, in my case, would mean a phone call to the bird cage folks. No way I'm crawling around up there across the middle.

Funny, you said that. Neighbor wants to go in with us (having same issue) and he said the same thing, the birds get smart. The fake birds will work for a little bit. Looking at the spikes, either metal flare out ones or found these too (attached).

If you can get a couple of these guys to hang around, you bird problem could be brought under control. Coopers Hawk and the similar Sharp Shinned Hawk are called Feeder Hawks because they prey on birds that congregate around feeders. Since my wife maintains at least three feeders pretty much all the time, I wasn't surprised to see this Coopers sitting on the spa spillover about 20 feet from one of the feeders. We also have Red Tailed and Red Shouldered Hawks plus Mississippi Kites in the early summer. Black Vultures year round, as we're near a county park where Muscovy Ducks by the thousands live and die. Note in the background you can see the previous overnight's deposit of wax myrtle leaves. Grrrr.
