With the aftermarket legs it gets hung up in yet a different place. I requested a return. It’s too bad, the idea is good and when it’s not stuck it just keeps going and going.

Does anyone have any pictures of the arrangements they use to keep the Betta from getting hung up on the skimmer? I'm still struggling to find a trouble-free solution.

I just have a piece of foam (from some packing material) sticking out a little at the center. Seems to bump & run.

Basically, I turned nearly all the power off of my skimmer. The Betta SE is now my primary skimmer and does a much better job anyway.
I picked up a Betta SE Plus recently... it worked great for a couple weeks but now I'm having problems. Basically... it seems like whenever it stops it's forward momentum, or decides to go in reverse, much of the contents in the basket then leaks out. Is anyone else experiencing this?

@Katodude, do these things work on springtails? It looks like the SE Plus is going for around $418 on Prime Day.

Might have found a solution, reporting back here in case anyone else has this issue. Betta support recommended trying to put a little bit of weight on the top - front of the Betta, this causes the front entry into the basket to go a bit under the surface, apparently helping to keep the debris inside. I put a small landscaping rock in it. They also said, in order to keep it from reversing so frequently, to reset the Betta by turning the power on and off 5 times to reset it. So far it seems to be performing how it was before, and had the pool surface clean in a couple hours

BTW for springtails, mix Bifen and Acephate. Had them early in the year. Sprayed 4’ deep into the perimeter of the yard surrounding the pool, and the deco drain where I think they were coming from. One and done.

I've tried Talstar P (bifen), OnSlaught, and Demand CS. Nothing works. I'll Iook into Acephate. I believe my infestation is just hard too large to fight. They are everywhere on our 1.25 acre lot. Bifen works on every other insect but springtails don't seem to care.

You need to mix Acephate and Bifen. There is a cumulative effect with the two.
I’m considering a Betta because I have a lot of tree droppings continuously falling and of course end up with lots of skimmer changes and junk sinking to the bottom.
I have a vinyl pool so the only suction is from the skimmers (no drain). Will the Betta get stuck since I can;t reduc the the flow? I do have a plastic guard over the skimmer opening to keep toys out…

I received my Betta SE Plus from Amazon ($349/next day Prime). I unboxed it and threw it in the water this morning. The way it looks, l felt like I was dropping in my office scanner/printer. I may name him Epson or Canon...
So far so good. Moving along fairly well...

Just wanted to follow up after only a week of use. This thing is awesome. I wasn't gonna make the purchase as I knew that someday it would fail. That seems to be the fate of all robotic devices thrown into a pool. I changed my mine when I came out in evening and saw all the organic material floating around on the surface.
With energy rates at 60 cents per kwh between 4-9 pm, I just can't allow my pump to run at skim speeds during those hours. Unfortunately, 4 pm is when the afternoon winds start blowing all the organics from the property into the pool. The Betta solves that problem and continues skimming non-stop. The winds that push to the debris to one side of the pool also force the Betta to focus on those areas. The Betta rides the sidewalls and picks up debris that build up on the sides of the pool. Each time I go out to check on the pool, I find it nearly spotless. When I wake at sunrise, Betta is still at work and the pool is spotless.
I've come to accept that someday Betta will fail. But with the 3-year warranty (additional $70), the total cost of the bot is just under $450. Even if it lasts three years, the cost per day is just over 40 cents. Well worth the cost to me. Thanks to @Katodude and @Orion7319 (original Betta owner) for the helpful reviews and updates they provided.

Great reviews, how does it handle on fine dust and pollen on the surface?
My pool gets some flowers/leaves blown in but it’s mainly a thin layer of material on the pool which I need to use a fine mesh pool net.

Great! I don't really get larger debris until fall. Most of what I get now is the cotton floaties, tiny seed thingies, little bugs/springtails, goat/horse hair, and occasional leaves and flowers. It captures it all. It's super quiet and mesmerizing to watch.
