Best online place for pool and testing supplies.

I have been searching through the forums and online and am trying to find a good place to buy pool chemicals and testing supplies online. Right now I specifically need R-0871 FAS_DPD Titrating Agent for Taylor Chlorine test, as well as come Calcium Chloride to raise my calcium levels a bit. I have been researching, etc. and seen some suggest poolsupplies.com, however they seem to have a terrible online rating. Poolsupplyworld.com seems like good service, but they only carry the full quart 32oz site of reagent. So their selection seems a bit limited. I am looking to get a 160z bottle of reagent as a 2oz is roughly $15, and if I can get 16oz for 30oz and the bottles last likely 2 years if kept well, then that is a no brainer. Also, trying to find a good site for getting calcium as well. I have seen in the pool school that it lists buying de-icer instead as it is cheaper. Has anyone ever done this? I have a very dark pool finish and don't want to risk damaging that.

Anyways, just curious if anyone has any good suggestions for cheap supplies online but also with decent service (ie. no jacked up orders, crappy customer service, etc.).

TIA folks!
Sean

Yeah, I came across tftestkits.net myself. But they only sell that, not anything else. I was hoping to find an online place that sold everything that people recommend. And I am aware of HD and Lowes, etc. They are cheap for acid, but not calcium. $12 for 4 lbs is all they carry, and that'll get pricey quick. I went ahead and took a gamble with poolweb.com. Hopefully they aren't too bad. But if anyone has any other suggestions for pool chems please let me know. Has anyone TRIED using de-icer instead of calcium increaser? I know they are supposed to be the same thing, but I wasn't sure if de-icer possibly had other inert ingredients that might be harmful for pool finishes, etc.

Ch increaser is about $10 for 4# at my Walmart. Once u put it in it doesn’t really leave that quickly. How much are u going through?
Some use amazon for all their supplies but the reagent freshness can vary & often the other chems are overpriced. As far as I know it’s hard to find Muriatic Acid shipped although delivery from the store is an option through some retailers.

Well, poolweb.com didn't work out. I already received an email saying my two items won't ship until the middle of September. Of course they already charged my card. So now, back to trying to find a reputable online pool supply store. I was going to try tftestkits but I don't need enough stuff ($100) for free shipping, so I ended up just going with the reagent from Amazon and found calcium for a very good price on HomeDepot.com.

If anyone else uses anything else please share.

Thanks!

I get most of my stuff from Amazon (16 oz. Taylor test kit refills, CYA, and baking soda) and Home Depot (chlorine and muriatic acid) The large sizes on test chemicals mean I won't run out, and are still cost effective even they expire before I run out.

YMMV

Cool thanks everyone. Thanks for the calcium link. I searched there and never saw that option. Good price, same as what I got from HD.

I DID find that my local warehouse store has the best price for salt and baking soda.

Tablets are acidic and lower PH, I learned that here when I asked why my PH keeps climbing
I never added acid until I switched to a SWG and several others here have said the same thing.
You may still need it, just saying so you won't over buy...I have a box of arm and hammer washing soda to raise PH that's been sitting for 4 months :)
Good news is all I seem to have to add is a splash of acid every week :)

I'm not sure why only having a SWG would keep you from having to maintain your alkalinity level. Baking soda isn't just for adjusting pH, its for maintaining total alkalinity. They are two different things.
