Balancing FC and CYA in new Intex pool

Hi - I’m just getting started. My FC is really high from shocking (was green) and CYA is low. I’m trying to get on the program. Should I wait for the FC to come down and simultaneously boost the CYA with conditioner? Thanks so much!

Add stabilizer and raise your pH while the FC is dropping.

Aerating the water is the best way to raise pH.

Thanks! The manager at the pool store is telling me I can’t put stabilizer in my intex pool because it will destroy my pump. Is this a valid concern?

Your advice has been very helpful! I have everything in a good spot. My question now is how do I calculate how much bleach to add to my pool on a daily basis (or other interval)? Or should I use the daily Chlorine test (yellow drops) to determine my FC and then use the Pool Math App's bleach addition suggestion? The latter feel more reactive and I'd prefer to be proactive. Thanks!
