Automatic cover vs solar cover

We have an vinyl automatic pool cover that seals over the top of the pool. Not sure on the brand but Hydramatic looks close.

Curious to know - do these actually insulate much compared to a solar / bubble cover? Wondering whether I should swap to a solar cover for the summer. It gets cool at night here (U.K.) so we lose quite a bit at night ..

Any thoughts?

Any cover will insulate some. Solar (bubble) covers do it best but are a chore using. They seldom last more than two years, hard to store when not in use, and are difficult to dispose of when needed.
