ASTRAL MULTI-PORT VALVE 22358

Leaking to waste, ran it for a couple hours yesterday, water dropped about 7 inches.
Quoted as $475 for a replacement valve.
I would rather attempt to repair, but not having any luck finding disassembly instruction. This valve does not have screws attaching the top to the body, there is a plastic pin, removed that, attempted to persuade it in counter clock wise direction, and clockwise, no movement at all.
Anybody have insite into removing the top?

If you are handy, you should be able to just swap the entire MPV yourself. On Amazon they have one model HERE listed for about $105. Of course you would have to confirm which model MPV you have. As Woody noted, some pics would help.

There may also be another MPV manufacture that is compatible with your filter and might work.

I replaced mine once cause the spider gasket was failing and nothing on earth would get that factory glued in one out cleanly.

As I recall....a hammer and a blocking wood and tapping broke it loose. Mine was NOT threaded. Just 4 plastic ears on it that fit under 4 plastic tabs on the body. Great time to clean off the top of the sand bedcwhile open. Wasn't a biggie.

Fixed.
New valve cover, $89.00.
Hammer and block of wood, bigger hammer, bigger wood, got it off, previous had used acumpucky, all over the place.
silicone grease on the locking lugs, locked in place by hand.
zero leaks, we'll see if it holds water.
