Aquapure Jandy Salt Sensor Issue

Hi all, I was having an issue with my salt cell sensor giving me erroneous salt readings and eventually not detecting flow. After looking at troubleshooting guides I decided to purchase a new sensor. I installed it and it worked great for 10 days, reading the salt accurately and detecting flow. All of a sudden, it stopped working and is it is detecting salt readings above 12000 PPM while giving me error codes 172 and 186. Any thoughts on this? Why would a sensor that was working perfectly fine and was brand new, pool company all of a sudden stop working ?

The device wasn't turned on while adding all that salt, was it?

No. My salt level is 3200 PPM as per my taykor kit. I haven't added salt as I don't need to at this time. Also. Whenever I add salt or any chemicals I throw in service mode to turn chkorinator off.

Have you tested your salt level independently of the device? With the K-1766 Sat test kit?

Problem is, when it reads salt that high, no chlorine is produced by cell. Very frustrating

Thanks for sharing. I read the whole manual. The only step left is change the sensor. But this is a new sensor. Some front boards have a testing mechanism but my board does not have that. Not sure what else to do. I did ask the company to send me a replacement

Your board has the test buttons.

Test the board following the procedure shown on the reference page.

This doesn't look like the one in manual. Am I missing something. Shouldn't the test buttons be near where the sensor is plugged into the board.?

3 white test buttons directly below where the trisensor is plugged in.

They are labeled:
H-Temp.
R-Temp.
Salinity.

Ahh. Ok. Tomorrow ill try and follow up with you. So I turn off system, unplug the sensor, turn back on and push the buttons and get reading on the interface?

On the Interface module, there are three LED's: one indicating flow, and two indicating firmware programs A & B.

1. Ensure there is power to the tri-sensor interface module.

Either PGM A or PGM B must be illuminated before proceeding.

If neither is illuminated, there is no power to the Tri-Sensor.

2. If the power interface board firmware is 02110A10 or 01220A15 as determined in Section B, 'PGM A' should be lit.

The firmware revision is printed on the CPU, which you can see in the picture.

It starts with "0211" and the rest is blocked by the cord.

It is probably 02110A10, which requires Program A.

Those numbers are OK.

Does the Sensor Indicator Module look like this with Program A lit up and the Flow indicator green?
