Aqualink water temp sensor

Looking for some help from you aqua link experts in the community! I got an open notice on the app traced the wire from the sensor and found a black wire not connected. The question is what the heck are those red things that appear to be holding the wires together. Do I need those to reconnect the black wire? Thanks in advance

UY connectors, yes you should use them to reconnect.

Bought same connector 100 of them ugh used 1 worked perfect sensor now working after you push in the non stripped wires you use pliers to squeeze the red part of the connector the wires will be connected. Only posting for those who never used these as myself.
