Aqua pure issue with new pump

Aquapure PLC1400 pro series. I installed a new VSP and get a general SWG fault when the pump is operating at low speed. Shows a 120 code so i figured it was just low flow. Now I'm getting the same fault at any speed. Its three years old and I cleaned it once but there was really nothing to clean, looked brand new inside. I'll take it apart again to clean, meanwhile any ideas? oh the middle of the three connectors on top looks a little rusty inside the female end, but don't think thats the issue. The pool water is within the pool school recommendation chem levels, and 3000 PPM salt.

If the center pin looks like water damage, it's probably leaking. There's a cover plate over the pins that compresses an o-ring around each pin. If you remove the two small screws, you can remove the plate and check the orings for leaks. The pin might pop out if it's corroded through.

If there's a leak at the pin, it will usually corrode the pin until it's eaten through. If that's the case, the cell is done.

If the pin is not damaged but leaking, you can replace the O-ring or use some sealant to stop the leak.

Then, replace the power cord and increase the salinity to about 3,400 ppm to 3,600 ppm.

OK, it appears that the center pin receiver on the harness side is rusted. I attempted to clean or at least scuff it up and applied dielectric lubricant. Hard to really get anything down in there without making it worse. It works for 30 minutes or so after resetting the unit so I'm thinking its not really the connection even as ugly as it looks.
Do the pool stores test these units ? Hard to believe this didn't last three years. I brought the salt up to 3500, guess I'll take a sample in to see if its accurate.

Did you remove the plate covering the pins to reseal the leak at the center pin?

Also, look at the plates to see if they look good or eroded. It's very difficult to see, so use a flashlight and look closely at the plates, especially the center one.

I think that when there's a leak at the pin, it generates chlorine and that eats the metal.

In my opinion, they shouldn't manufacture the cell with the orings. I don't see the point. All it does is create a weak point. There's no reason to need access to the pins.

The pins should be permanently sealed by molding the plastic around the pins for a strong, permanent, waterproof seal.

If the cell is less than 3 years, contact your builder and ask for warranty coverage. Just reinstall the plate so it doesn't look like it was removed.

It shouldn't matter either way but you don't want to give them any reason to deny the warranty.

Complete electronic salt water chlorine systems (controller and cell purchased and installed together) are warranted for three (3) years.

The installer is out of business. However I contacted Jandy and they set me up with an local installer, just have to show receipt of installation and date and they will fix it. lets see what happens. I just said its broke and gave him the codes.

Ok, hopefully they will figure it out and give you a new cell.

If they don't know what they're doing, they will probably want to replace parts in the box and waste a bunch of time.

Maybe point out the corrosion in the plug to point them in the right direction.

They replaced the cell under warranty. Just had the builders invoice and city permit close outs but he didn’t ask for anything. Just said the cell was bad and put a new one in. He cleaned up the power cable and said to call him if it caused any other problems. Thanks for the advice... C.
