Anyone have an Intex pool with a non Intex SWG WITHOUT doing hardplumbing? would like photos please

I am biting the bullet and going for another non Intex SWG since mine died. In another post of mine (about my sand filter pump leaking) several of you suggested brands and I thank you all for that. I needed all the help I can get! Like i have said before, I am an old lady alone and just cant seem to do the things my poor old brain used to allow me to do! (Even with multiple Margaritas! Ooooh, Those peach ones are the bomb!) I really am wanting to put one on my pool using the hoses i have. I dont even know if that is possible or what all i would need. I am going to try to attatch a photo here and maybe someone could tell me exactly what I need to do, or better yet, maybe someone on here has done it and can show me photos. I have been looking through the gallery on here for days and 6,000+ pics are just too many to go through!! LOL. I was just hoping to run across a setup like what i would like to do. im still not sure if i can do the pvc. will any of the saltwater generators for above ground pools hook up to this? I get so confused. sorry! thank you very much.

I am trying not to go hard piping at all. i just cant do this. I just wonder if there is a way to use one of the recommended salt systems and stilll use my pool hoses or i could use the flex pvc. Thanks so much for trying to help me. I would still like to see a photo if you get the chance.

You can use recommended SWG systems with the Intex hoses, but it will require the GAME 4560 and some PVC fittings to make it work. Only the Intex SWGs will work directly with the Intex hoses. The threads on the Intex hoses, pumps SWGs are 40mm. The GAME 4560 40mm to 1 1/2 Inch Conversion Kit is required to use the Intex hoses with non-Intex SWGs. BTW, I see that Amazon does not have those GAME adapters in stock. I have a pair that I no longer need if you are interested.

What SWG are you interested in getting?

Flex PVC pipe is not flexible like the hoses that come with the Intex system and still require you to glue the parts together (same as hard piping)
Just need to figure out how to connect the Game 4560 adapters to either end of the SWG. The only way I can think of at the moment will require minimal gluing using this:


With a small piece of 1.5" pipe in between to couple the 2 pieces together.

Anyone have any other ideas?

fitting and gluing pvc is so easy! compared to the old days of sweating copper or using steel. go to the big box or your local hardware and grab a hack saw, a handful of small diameter fittings and a short stick of same plus some primer and glue and practice. it is really easy. look around you at pvc craft videos, can even make something like a towel rack or an over the side shelf for the pool.

You guys and gals are so good to explain things to me. So, will they actually glue to the hoses i have or will the pvc go stringht to the SWG and then to the inlet on pool wall? I feel so dumb here. i did not know that about the flexible pvc. I really appreciate all of you, I will see if I can find the Game 4560 anywhere. May have to take mirko up on the offer. thanks again.

I havent completely decided yet on the kind. I do need something under $1,000 and would like more than a year warranty. A couple on here recommended the CirCuPool or one of the Haywards. I really want one with a descent clorine output and fairly easy for me to get it put on here also. I will look and see if I can find the conversion kit, if i cant, then i will hollar at you and see about getting one from you. Thank you so much. Any recommendations from you on what generator to get?

The general rule of thumbs is 3x your pools capacity. For instance you have a 5,000 gallon pool the SWG should have at least 15,000 capacity. I will also be looking for a new SWG as mine is dying a slow death (Intex not worth fixing) and I am pretty set on the CircuPool. They seem to be well regarded by others on here. Though nothing wrong with hayward or any of the other major brands out there.

Yes, that is where i have been looking. The CircuPool is what i have been looking at, but there again, the one i can afford and that has a clear cell, isnt that high on clorine output/daily. I keep going back and looking at the Resilience A5 that has a 1.38lb/da and 2 year warranty. I just get overwhelmed, but have to make a decision soon. Thanks for the link, though.
