Price is $100 less for the Hayward. Pool salesman said no real difference. what do you guys think? any main difference in serviceability or expected lifespan?

The Hayward is ABS, the Pentair is fiberglass. Hayward is 6.5 sqft and Pentair is 7sqft. Not much other difference.
are either of those items a big deal though? .5sqft i doubt matters tooooo much. but no clue if abs vs fiberglass is worth $100

ABS can crack, fiberglass can chip. Fiberglass can degrade in UV over a period of time.
Will the filter be covered? What type and size pool do you have?

i would like to get it covered eventually. not sure if it will be immediately. it's a big pool. 20x45x36 L shaped with a sun ledge so it cuts a few gallons out of it.

Either would be ok, and will last a while. Lots of ABS out there. Would be good to get it covered. Not sure it is worth $100 for the fiberglass. Here is what happens when it gets lots of UV.
