Any idea what this object is on the bottom?

We resurfaced our pool a year ago. This past week we felt something slightly sticking up on the bottom. We never noticed this before.

I brushed it without much effect on it. I also briefly poked at it with a knife. it didn't feel metallic.

Would this be something that fell in and stuck to the surface? Or is this something from the resurface that we just
now noticed?

It's hard to tell. It doesn't look embedded. It looks organic. It could be some sort of scat. I'd be tempted to chip it off with a chisel or screw driver. But don't. If your surface is under warranty, don't mess with it. Ask the finish installer to come out and have a look. I did that, they sent a guy out and he jumped in, fixed it, no charge. If you mess with it yourself and cause a problem, then they can deny a warranty fix.

Or maybe someone else here will recognize it...
