Hey all. Once again, I come overwhelmed. TL;DR: Not sure who to call first: Pool tec? Exterminator? Electrician?

This is my second season. I opened the pool Monday. I do it myself. This year, pump didn't turn on. With help from my neighbor and a handy father-in-law, we discovered the pump switch wasn't grounded. After rewiring, it worked. Closed up shop, pump ran great for 3 days.

Today, I had to turn the pump on and off to cycle to waste and lower the water level after a week of rain. Luckily I was able, but now my pump is dead once again.

So I open it up. Teeming with ants. Open up the switch box. Teeming with ants. Open the GFI outlet wired just below the switch. Teeming with ants. I sprayed water on my pump, filter, and plumbing which all sits on a concrete slab in a landscaped area with decorative rocks around it. Ants start pouring out of the ground and climbing all over everything.

I hate bugs. They get under my skin. I'm stressed haha. Luckily I SLAM'd on Monday & Tuesday and it's been overcast, so my FC is pretty high.

Anyone have any thoughts on where I should start with this issue? My neighbor has a pool and DIY's everything, so I'm hoping to chat with him later. Called a local pool company that another neighbor uses and left a message. But even if I get this thing running again, I fear the ants will persist.

Ants are attracted to the vibrations of electrical boxes.
