Another Pool Build in Cypress, TX

Yesterday was a busy day! So busy that with TFP having a few glitches, I didn't have time to post.

Our downstairs a/c unit went out Friday. We had to get a new unit - UGH! Also the pavers/landscapers started their work yesterday. We had a party here with crews! I was really impressed how the crews were so respectful of each other. Neither group wanted to be in the way of the other. After the a/c guys finished the work up in the attic, they had to go across town to pick up the fan/compressor outside unit. So while they were gone, the landscaper guys worked like crazy to get the pathway from the driveway to the far side of the house cleared and packed so the a/c guys could wheel that huge box back to the a/c pads. I thought that was pretty cool of the landscape crew.

I did take pictures. I can't say they're going to be interesting to ya'll. since it's been so long with the dirt and muddy muck (March 14th), it's VERY exciting to us! I guess you'd say the 'after' photos are really intermediate in the process. But like I said, I just want to post some photos! I told the crew yesterday that it looked so much better, they could leave, and I'd still have a smile on my face!!!

Well, now photo bucket doesn't seem to be working. When I try to click on the IMG code, it disappears. I think this has happened before, but I don't remember what I needed to do. Any ideas?

Thanks. Suz.

I think I figured out Photo bucket. Let's see....

Before: This has been the fun out our back door since March 14th! I know.... once the deck is in, this memory will fade.

Before: Another view after rains.

After: End of yesterday's progress. Much better!

We had a deluge this afternoon, and it's still raining lightly. Two steps forward, one back. On days like this, it feels like one step forward, two back. We had a NEW a/c unit installed yesterday, and this afternoon (right before the rain hit) my son told me his unit upstairs isn't working. Then the rain and storms hit.....

So we're back to this, and our plywood "porch" is no longer in place. My blue crocs (shoes) are floating. The crew thought that was hysterical!

Another fine shot....

Sad Suz. :(

Oh man! I surely would send you some of our rain if I could. I'm not sure what is worse - too much rain or a drought. We gotta have water to live, so I guess a drought is worse. Plus for us down here, the rain keeps us a little cooler. Nice when your second a/c unit conks in 3 days. But right now...... Sighhhhhhh... Suz.

Even with all the rain and mud, it is STILL beautiful!

Thank you. It's nice to hear encouraging words.

I'm going to have break down and play the 'Glad Game'. Let's see..... the rain is keeping our upstairs cooler until the a/c man can come back and see what's wrong. The big huge mound of dirt out our back door is gone. There are crews coming out to TRY to get some work done. We are way past the dig stage - others are still desperately waiting for their dig dates. And the frogs' home in the gunite shell is getting some fresh water!

Feeling better already.

Right there with you Suz!

Dirt, mud, and trenches everywhere. The worst part for me, is I go barefoot most of the time. I have to say hopping in and out of trenches made of gravel is a little harsh. The other day when it was raining I went down to check the drainage. I sank in soft mud up past my ankle, and it was the slurpy kind, so it made a huge suction sound when I pulled my foot out.

I did notice that you have a chair on the deck, with a fan... all you need is a little table, a little beverage and it is all good. The tile you chose is amazing, even in the over cast light it reflects light and has a cheerful hue. I would be out there with an umbrella just imagining the water was in the pool not the air.

What is the next step on your pool?

That is some kind of mud for sure BUT you do have power and they are trying to work on your pool so it is all good. At least you can look out your window and see that pretty tile just waiting for you.

Let us know what the ac guy says! I wonder if it has something to do with the holes they fixed with the other one?

Kim

I found out yesterday from the paver guys that 'someone' forgot to put in the overflow thingy to the pool. The head guy put in a call to my PB.

Is this something that can be added now? Will it work as well?
Suz.
