Another guy, owner/builder diving in....

My wife and I are at an age where we want to step into the pool not climb in and out. Our current 20’ above ground has another year in it before it has to be replaced. We are looking at building a 4’ x 16’ x 32’ in-ground. I have connections to get the digging and slab done. I will either buy a wall kit or weld up frames myself out of aluminum. Skin them with smooth Hardi panels, backfill, compact and install a vinyl liner. Ambitious, but affordable. I’d appreciate any advice on wall kits, pump/salt generator/ filter equipment. Need info on a skimmer and drains etc. this will be the second one I’ve done like this, but the first one was 30 years ago, need to get current on info. You guys give good advice, so let me know. Location is near Orlando, FL.
