Alkalinity up & Calcium Hardness

Noted and thank you very much. Newbie here and it will be baking soda from here on out.

If your TA (Alkalinity) is at least 50ppm there’s no reason to raise it higher unless your exclusively using trichlor tablets for chlorine.

I would personally wait a day between these two as neither TA nor CH will harm you in the short term. They are both long term concerns, so why risk adverse affects ?

How many times has this reaction with baking soda and CaCl been reported? This one time by m100psi is all I remember and I don't think it that was m100psi's issue to begin with.

I suggest we keep our procedures as simple as possible.
