Alkalinity keeps rising

Good afternoon, 10k gal indoor I ground pool epoxied painted plaster and fiberglass. Emptied it, acid washed it, filled it with soft water. First parameter to address is TA. Started at 280, 5 gal of acid later down to around 110. Ph 7.5, Chlorine is at 3. Adding water daily due to evaporation. After 2 weeks - alkalinity is back up to 190 ! Is there something in well water that can cause this type of meteoric rise ! I’m now looking at another 2-3 gal of acid to bring it down again ! Does chlorine or CH affect the TA ? I am stumped beyond stumped.

Have you tested the well water? Well water is usually high in minerals so yes, TA can also be very high. High evaporation means you are adding TA back into the water,

Yep...I'm on well water also. I have very high TA...started at 350. I too have been topping off and filling after backwashing with softened water. The softened water is still high in TA, so you will have to keep the MA on hand to counter each time you add more water. And to answer the question about the CH...yes, it will also effect your TA and pH. What kind of chlorine are you using? Cal-hypo can push it back up also.
