Algae

I am a new pool owner and have gray looking dirt on the bottom of my pool, am told this is algae. Can anyone confirm this and tell me what I need to do? The water is also cloudy after I put the start up kit in. The pump/ filter has been running constantly with a new filter. I have a salt water 13,500 gal above ground pool.

How do you normally sanitize your pool? If you've got dead algae, you probably have live algae still too. We need more info!

Can you provide a picture? It sounds like algae, but pictures would help.
